This candle has an 50+ hour burn time.

The ziziphus jujuba  (Jujube tree) is remarkably resilient. The tree's hardiness makes it possible to withstand rising temperatures and dryness. It can draw water from deep underground, and it retains the ability to photosynthesize even when exposed to high temperatures and solar radiation. It is one of the very few species that can be planted out in the desert – and thrive. Even in the worst conditions, the tree’s strength and hardiness provides sustenance to bees and insects and can help support life in areas threatened by dryness and oppressive heat.

My company's name - Jujubee - has been slightly adapted with that extra "e" to pay tribute to honeybees. Even in the middle of the desert, the Jujube tree will blossom and bear fruit - helping bees to thrive in an otherwise hostile environment.

As I  thought about the unique characteristics of the Jujube tree - I have drawn some inspiration from it for myself. I decided to create a product that reflects these traits, in the hope that all those who posess a piece of this tree will be reminded of their own reslience and adaptability.

Here are some of the paralells.

In the face of adversity, we can draw inspiration from the Jujube tree's ability to endure and thrive in challenging environments. Resilience in the face of life's difficulties is a valuable character trait. Like the tree, those of us who can withstand adversity, learn from challenges, and continue to grow - will posess a strength that is enduring.

The Jujube tree's adaptability to changing conditions is reflective of the human capacity to adapt to life's uncertainties. If we can learn to adjust to different circumstances, learn from experiences, and remain flexible in our approach to life's challenges we will navigate the complexities of life a little easier.

Just as the Jujube tree provides sustenance to bees and insects even in the most adverse conditions, we have the ability to support one another during difficult times. Our willingness to extend a helping hand, share resources, and provide support to those in need reflects an opportunity to have compassion and unite and empathize with others.  And isn't this what the human race needs right now?

Each piece of this extremely hardy wood is unique. No two are alike. Once the candle is spent, it can be cleaned and repurposed for a different use and continue to serve as a reminder to us all to be strong, adapt to life's challenges and serve and support one another.
